Bible Centered, Ministry Focused, and Spirit Led
Believing the need to spread the Gospel, Pastor L.E. Anderson, Jr. and the Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church of Kokomo, IN together with the Southern Baptist, State Convention of Baptist in Indiana planted a seed of hope for a church in the city of Muncie, Indiana. Since its initiation, the leadership of this precious new church plant was placed in the hands of the Reverend Cedric T. Anderson, Sr. In January 2016, the Anderson family stepped out on faith and relocated to the city of Muncie. In March 2016, Rev. C.T. Anderson and other believers began meeting in his home for prayer and fellowship in the Word on Wednesdays and Sundays. Throughout this time, believers were taught the need to stop doing church and began being the church. We were taught the importance of allow the Holy Spirit free reign in our lives to reach all kinds of people. The small group of believers began to get excited about sharing the Good News about Jesus Christ and helping others grow into mature Christians. As a result, souls have been saved and lives have been changed. God has blessed this church plant with His power, presence and provisions. To God be the Glory!
On March 11, 2017, Pastor Lonnie E. Anderson, Jr. and other pastors met with Rev. Cedric Anderson and other committed believers to officially organize this new local body of believers called The Grace Community Missionary Baptist Church. Those in attendance was Pastor Willie Love (Morning Star MBC Marion, In), Pastor Tim Taylor (Tabernacle Baptist Church Indianapolis, In), Pastor Derek White (Mt. Olive Baptist Church Richmond, In), and Church Planting Catalyst Doug Jividen (S.C.B.I.). On March 12, 2017, we had the awesome privilege of installing Rev. C. T. Anderson, Sr. as our pastor. We are blessed to have a man of God who loves God, his family, and the Grace Community Missionary Baptist Church. Our pastor has a genuine love for people! We are witnessing the Holy Spirit use him to reach people of various cultures, spiritual levels and backgrounds. We are so glad God chose to give us such powerful, passionate and personable preacher and teacher.
In January 2017, the small group of believers began fellowshipping on Howard Street due to spiritual and numerical growth. The Lord used the partnership of Pastor Bruce Reynolds and The Old Town Hill Southern Baptist Church who graciously gave us permission to use their food pantry to continue our weekly fellowship in the Word. Upon arrival in this temporary facility, the small group of believers immediately began seeking God for direction as it pertains to the next phase of organizing this local congregation. Throughout these 40 days of praying and fasting, the Lord led us to officially organize as a local Baptist Church. Our current place of fellowship is 524 W. Howard Street in the city of Muncie, Indiana. We gather together on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. and Sundays at 12:00 p.m. for fellowship in the Word. God is empowering us to help others with their relationship with Christ and His Church. What an awesome and amazing time we have learning the simplicity of salvation and the security we have in the finished work of Jesus Christ. To God be the Glory!
